Exhaust dump after rear axles

boulder gardens aren't nice and even ledges usually so sometimes the hitch isn't what takes the first hit. The day I lost the tip I never hit the bumper so must not have made super solid contact. Either way figured it would just get damaged again or worse get pushed up closer to the gas tank.

The OEM setup certain hung lower vs how just my pipe sits. The metal bumper also sits up a bit more so when my muffler guy makes the new pipe extension he puts it as close as possible, then he angles the tip.
I say dump it where ya want it, and for peace of mind buy a battery operated detector, slap some batteries in it, and see what happens. My inlaw has a 2016 Explorer & she runs around with a detector in the back as they had issues with exhaust fumes getting into the cabin. I've sat in the far back & when they enter a freeway I've smelled exhaust fumes. Dang Fords lol!!
