Default experienced LR owners

As some of you may or may not know, i'm looking to leave the ranks of LR ownership, mainly as my car is now in the milage
range of "enthusiast ownership" and i'm more in need of a more reliable car. I have a friend who has offered to loan me
some cash to get a new car so i can take my LR off the road and take my time looking for a buyer for it. I have explained
to him that after 60k miles these cars become quite unreliable and often need major and cosly repairs. He asked me how such
an expensive luxury car can be this way after only 60k miles. I had no good answer to give him.
I would like some of you experienced LR owners to write a paragraph or two to add to what i have told him to "back up my
claims" that these cars need more than just TLC after the 60k mark. My LR has about 129000 miles now.
A brief explaination about head gaskets, driveshafts, ticking/knocking engines, premium gas and the rest of our beloved "quirks would
help me to help him understand why i feel like im "driving on borrowed time"
I have put a lot of time, work and money into my LR over the last few years, and i'm at a point in my life where i just
want a car that i can carry a "basic" set of tools in, instead of the several toolboxes and heavy duty jack that i carry
around everywhere. For the last year my rear seat foot spaces have been unusable due to my "tool collection"
I have maintained the LR meticulously , but with the rising milage and rising gas prices i need to say goodbye. I like the
LR but i don't love it...i'm a Jaguar guy at heart and thats what i'm looking to get back into.
I have enjoyed the forum and have enjoyed both giving and receiving help from you all.
Of course i shall continue to post until i finally find a buyer as i'm sure issues will arise before i find my Jag X type.
Thanks again to you all

The Jaguar X type is just as unreliable as a Disco. At least you have space in the Disco to carry all of your tools.

Ditto

Have you been having issues with your Disco or are you just paranoid something "might" happen? I just hit 129K on my drive home from work today and wouldn't hesitate driving it accross country right now...

If you need to "convince" your friend Rover's can be quirky, just do a search, every other post is of someone having a weird issue... or copy and paste the "what to look for..." from the stickies...

I have nothing negative to say about my rover. I carry tools in my truck too -- but I use them more on friends cars than mine (fords, gm, and even toyotas). I honestly do not understand your post. Why do we need to persuade your friend Land Rovers are unreliable?

Probably the only Jag that I might consider is the 1995-1997 xj6. They have the straight 6 and are surprisingly reliable all around. If you go to carsurvey.org and look up the x type you will want to keep your Land Rover and maybe get another one as a spare or backup. The Jaguar x type in my opinion is one of the biggest jokes in automotive history, the platform is not even a Jag it is basically a Ford Contour which are crap and no longer made. I also read somewhere that the x type was on the list of the 100 worst cars ever made, no joke.

the X type is pretty much bullet proof according to my many friends and experts on the x type forum. no need for drive shafts head gaskets, knocking engines broken door locks broken sunfoofs, 02 problems, MAF problems, ECU problems..etc etc etc etc
none of your answers have any validity and i'm shocked that rather than help me out you just badmouth the jag and say how fine the LR is.
IMHO the LR is a piece of ****e. Crappy gas milage, and ugly to boot. The only off roading i would do in it is over a high cliff.
Have any of you actually owned an X type?...i highly doubt it.
Well thanks for your stupid answers. each one absolutely no use to me.
I'm done....don't waste your time with more answers to this thread...its time to take down my ebay classified ad and throw it in an auction
thanks again

Nothing negative to say about mine atm either. Of course I have not taken it off road yet and beaten the heck out of it. Not to say I will not at some point.

Yes...the land rover is very very reliable, no need to ever change anything on it. it will run forever

Default Totally confused on purpose here

Do you need more testimonies of imminent failure to get the loan from your friend, or what? If so, send him a link to this page where there are like 140k posts.

You more or less told a mother her baby is ugly...how helpful would that mother immediately be?

Op is a Tard.

Do what you want, you don't have to convince anyone of anything, just do you. Don't need proof.
