How much deeper in the water are you wanting to go? I have the standard breathers on my 99 and have been deep enough to have a little water come over the hood with no gear oil contamination.
If you plan on more then the standard tubes plan on sealing the passenger compartment, all you wire connections and add a snorkel.

 

Terrafirma has a kit that extends all your breather hoses and joins them into 1 single tube that you can route wherever you'd like.

 

A snorkel on a petrol engine is for looks and dust control only, they are NOT for wading and they even tell you that in the description.

Go to Home Depot, ice make water tubing for installing a fridge, it's like $5 for a 20ft roll, remove the old, install and run to the engine bay, fasten to the fire wall and make sure you put a "trap" in the ends that dump into the engine bay.
When you run it along the frame make sure you leave it just loose enough so as not to get hung up and break.

 

Im not going deep but I have a feeling my front diff is full of cow sperm again, and I have been in fender high water.

 

Its not the axle breather thats your problem then, its a bad seal.
Unless you are stopped in water with the top of the breather submerged water will not enter it, it has a "trap" on the end of it just like the drain under your sink, that traps water in the drain pipe, it traps air in the breather.

 

HMMM have to check it out, although I did stop in some water.

 

Check your breather line for cracks.
