Default Extreme Rovers? Is this a joke? $32k for a truck w/ 104k on the clock!?!

So somehow I ended up on the Extreme Rovers page, I think I clicked on an ad while on another non Rover site. Anyway they have a few for sale and when I saw the asking prices I laughed out loud. Don't get me wrong the trucks look clean but really as far as I can tell they only have accessories bolted on, although just about every accessory you can imagine.

I was expecting to see axle upgrades, new lower gears front and back, disconnects, completely rebuilt top hat blocks with non failure prone front covers and oil pumps, low temp thermostats ( at the very least). Hell, they have two listed for $25k and they both have 120k miles!

AM I MISSING SOMETHING?

It looked like they used tons of spray paint cans on the green one. I think you can price your rover any price you want. Why not? Makes our truck valuable again. LOL!

Glad I am not the only one that thinks they are crazy. After I posted I was for sure someone would say " just to play devils advocate .... Blah blah, add up the cost of all the accessories new blah blah."

The site says they are a group of Rover enthusiasts, to me that means more than lifts, lights and tires. If you are asking $32k for a truck with over 100k on the clock and I ask you why you'd have to do more than point at it.

Hell if that were the case, we can start making our own in various parts of the country n ripping off any Tom dick or Harry that would want to spend some coin for a "toy"

Honestly that is almost criminal. Good for them if they get that I guess but geez. I thought I had paid over the odds for my rig at 11k and it had CDL, front and rear lockers, front and back bumpers, rock sliders, winch, and hd drive shafts etc... Actually I know I paid over the odds cannot imagine paying 25k.

It's a bad joke but there are folks dumb enough to pay that price.

When you're using names like "Silver Bullet", "Big Hoss", and "Predator", you garner the hefty prices. You just need a creative name for yours, Frank. Might I suggest one of the following:

The Creeper
Heavy Pedal
Hybrid Hunter
Steam Roller
Exhausted
Truckasuarus Rex

You're welcome :-)

Good idea, flawed implementation.
i've been running a lot of numbers over the last month to try and find a price point that would work to sell restored D2's, D1's and Classics. It's really hard to provide great customer value in the mid 20's because you can't really afford to do the drivetrain and address all of the components that have gotten tired over the previous life of the truck. Conversely, 25-30k is a lot of money for a tired truck that's gussied up.

The spreadsheet that I have shows a build of materials in excess of $50k for an "almost perfect" Classic. That's going to seem exorbitant but it includes the cost of a full professional repaint, retrimming all the seats, new crate 5.3 LS engine plus GM 6speed transmission and replacing all suspension, steering and braking components to get to "better than new" condition (arguably).

Obviously you could do a lot of the big ticket items above yourself and save money, results would depend on how good you were. My cost gets inflated by the body work shop I like, his quote on my white Classic is 13k, but that's a full on engine out restoration on a car where every panel has a ding in it.

The one thing I haven't yet explored is the buy it here, finance it here model. It makes your product more accessible and attracts a different type of customer to be sure. Perhaps that's what these guys are targeting? They can finance the cost of the bolt ons to a buyer who would otherwise have to wait. Not my cup of tea if that's the case.

Exhausted. How can I get that on a seven digit license plate?
