Default Fan clutch

Is there any better or upgrades to the cooling fan clutch assembly or is the oem version from Amazon rock auto or Atlantic British good enough ?

Dorman 620-112 fan blade or OEM 99-02 fan blade (Dorman unit cost nearly 2-3 times less), then the Hayden 2991 fan clutch.

Yes. I was getting too hot at idle with an 03-04 unit, and running between around 190-194 on the highway. Now I’m not going above 204 at idle and running 183-190 on the highway. Very happy with my Dorman/Hayden combo.

03-04 is a one piece unit so the Dorman blade & hayden fan clutch blow the OEM unit out of the water in price for sure. Around 75.00 total vs 299.00, then you can choose a HD to severe fan clutch. Not to mention you can now get the parts separately if one or the other had an issue vs the entire assembly.

You need 4 bolts, washers, (lock washers or loc-tite) for the new fan to the clutch(I forget what size they are, sorry), as the stock assembly is one piece, so no bolts to re-use.

That's what I put into my daughter's Disco! Highly recommended.

Also, you can adjust the temp on many fan clutches so that they come on earlier to keep the motor a little cooler, if desired:

The last fan clutch I grabbed at Auto Zone actually had new bolts with it.
