I think mine is. My truck sounds like a dump truck all the time lol (P.O. used an actual chevy dumptruck fan)

Why would you want the fan running all the time? Even on the highway?

Noise. Makes it sound like I'm always in low range

That will usually put a lot of strain on the water pump bearings and they will fail prematurely. I would leave it alone, just make sure the clutch is working properly.

I recommend the HD fan clutch from Auto Zone, it’s a lot stiffer then the unit I got from AB. It was recommended to me by another Rover guy and I can say I’m happy with it.

I've heard of others doing just this, not a good idea due to the additional noise and over cooling during winter use. It's better to replace the viscous fan than 'nail' it permanently as many have found out. In truth, once on the highway at constant 45mph+ the viscous fan ceases to have any operational effect due to the air 'ram' effect and only works at slower, hard acceleration or start/stop scenarios.

You'll be sorry...if you do. The noise will be drive you crazy on the expressway.
