My Dodge was right on with my GPS until I put the larger tires on. Now it reads about 5% slower than I am actually going. A sheriff's deputy up in Wyoming was kind enough to bring that to my attention.

got it up to a 128-ish on a L-O-N-G downhill in montana during one of my cross country moves a few years back. the downside (other than being passed like i was standing still by a state cop ?!?! - where the f*ck was HE going?!) was that a tank of gas lasted something like 150 miles. but it was a fast tank. we sustained 110+ for the whole tank. except the uphill. fast in a disco going uphill - not so much...

Ive done 140+ in 3 diffrent vehicles..

87 BMW 745i 145ish
86 Corvette 150ish

The Vette was the only scary one, the others were confortable and confident..

i was driving across montana on I-80.
have you ever driven across montana?! holy sh*t it takes forever - even at 110mph.
as to the legal question : this took place a few years ago when they were not enforcing the speed limit during day light hours.
i did it one time just to see what my rover would do. never again...
knowing my baby CAN do it makes me feel a little better when those annoying little twerps in the rice burning hondas with NOs stickers fly by me on I-5 however.

and yes it shook like the carpathia until 100 mph then it kinda smoothed out - like a big old boat getting on plane. sorta...

I plan on hitting the 'Texas Mile' one of these years and seeing what I can get up to.

Not... in my Disco of-course. x_x
