Default Fault Codes

Hi all, I have an 01 Disco 2 with 89000 miles on it. Recently it had been reving high after a cold start, intermittently and only for a short while. To try and fix this I cleaned the MAF and the butterfly valve. Now I am getting P1172 and P1175 codes. Haven't had the high reving anymore though.I tightened all the intake ducting up to make sure everything was back together well. Any thoughts?

Thanks.
Joe

Sounds like a bad purge valve to me. 2001 is a little late for it to have been one of the bad valves, but it could be one that slipped through.

I agree, you never clean a Bosch MAF.
As for the 1175, I can't find it, but I don't believe it is a purge valve code.

What are the odds that the code is because of the MAF? I wasn't getting any codes until I cleaned the MAF. The day after I clean the codes came up.

Spike, where are you in Grand Rapids? I live in Comstock Park.

Here is what I have for the P1175 code:

Lambda control adaption fault bank 2.Last occurrence - minimum signal

How will you know when the MAF is bad, if cleaning killed it? Is that the place to start at this point, I hate starting with a $300 dollar sensor...

The 1172 says you have 02 system too rich for both A and B banks.
Time to start looking for either exhaust or vacuum leaks from the exhaust pipes and up. Check all your lines and the manifold for leaks.
If and when the MAF fails, you will get a 100 thru 104 code or lean codes for banks A and B as well as either a 3rd. or 4th. gear out of ratio code for the tranny. The exhaust will start to smell and your mileage will also fall of. I have seem some cases where ricks codes can show up but they are rare.

Ok, well this may be a place to start. I just had it in for service and had a misfire that was caused by a frayed wire. I had the wires replaced while it was in as they said they had to pull the manifold off to do this. Is it possible it wasn't reassembled properly to where it would cause this issue?

This is a link for a brand new MAF sensor. But dont buy one just yet.
How is the truck running right now?
Do you know what brand of plug wires the shop used? I doubt that they goofed the intake manifold when they put it back together.
I would go to AutoZone and have the codes cleared and then drive it and see what happens.
I live in Grandville Joe, are you closer to Alpine or West River Drive?

I live closer to Alpine, kind of near the high school if you know where that is. I took it to the dealer for the tune up, I know it is over priced but the previous owner had all factory service done at the dealer so I figured I would keep it going so I am assuming they used stock wires.

The truck runs fine, and I have a code reader. I cleared the codes once and they came back the next day so I have just cleared them again.

Thanks for the link and I am for sure not buying one quite yet. Let me know if you think of anything else I could look into. I don't have a ton of free time right now so I haven't started looking for vac or emission leaks.
