Default favorite octane booster?

I'm gearing up for another Baja run, if TS Lowell doesn't muck it up. I have about 2 1/2 fillups down south with no premium gas is available and I need to bring the Pemex magna 87 octane up to 91 octane.

What brand?

Well octane boosters dont raise the octane points high enough to make a difference.
I think it was Landzu who explained it best, but on average .02 points is all that a bottle of boost will do for you.

No site for these products will say how much it raises the octane, which prolly means little to none as you guys mentioned.

check out this faq on 104 octane boost...

Should I just not worry about it for those 2 1/2 tanks? Could that harm my disco?

Interesting, here is a site claiming NOS racing formula boosted octane from 92 to 94.

Sherwin Williams.

Buy a gallon or two of either Toluene or Xylene. Just add a drop or two of oil and pour it in the gas tank. Depending on how much gas you already have in there it will boost your octane significantly. I did this with my two turbocharged Eclipse cars.

Cheers,

Pete

Toluene is the main ingredient in gasoline. You can also see it in BG Chemtool injector cleaner and other cleaning products. Xylene has an octane rating of 117. Cool stuff. Definitely cheaper than buying from Conoco or race gas at a drag strip.

Happy Roving,

Pete

If a bottle says it will give you a ten point boost that is
one octane point 89 octane to 90 octane.

I use Outlaw and have had no problems.
The thing you need to do is try to fill up in a high volume
place.

For the 3 tanks of gas that you will be running i wouldnt worry about it. Now if you were going to be living there for 6 months...thats a differnet story.
