Few Interior question 96 discovery
There are a few problems I have been having and was wondering if anyone could help ME WITH MY 1996 DISCOVERY:
1) Onthe instrumnet cluster 6 out of the 8 buttons do not light up at night. It is not the light letting displaying whether the unit is on or off (the little green or orange light) but the background light
2) The rear windows no longer go down, I thought it was a fuse it and replaced it and it worked but now the fuse is fine and still won't work, it is associated with the same mechanism that allows the 30 seconds when the engine is off to control the windows, when the rear windows work so does that and when the don;t work that function doesn't work
3) Kind of a random question, but I replaced the headlamp with brighter lamp, and they work great but after I replaced them I couldn't remember if the amber colored side light on either side of the lamps illuminate or if they are strictly turn indicator lamps. Do they illuminate with the lamps or only with turning? Will someone with a disco I let me know if these light illuminate on setting I and II with the head lamps.
4) Glove box light does not work I have replaced the bulb did not work, so I oredered and replaced the unit still does not work, any suggestions??
5) How are your supposed to replace the rear door pocket, or any pocket for that matter?
That might be it for now but I am sure more questions will pop up! THANKS

RE: Few Interior question 96 discovery
1. The buttons pull out and have replacement bulbs.
green for lights, orange for on (that button working).
You can find them at Atlantic British.
2. Sounds like you need a rear window regulator.
Also at A.B. this is under the dash right side.
It was easier to take the glove box out to get it has 3 small nuts
holding it in and is hard to get at.
3. They are only turn signals, and stay off other wise.
4. Not sure, loose wire, ground?
5. Atlantic British is having a sale now and I saw the plastic door pocket not sure
if it was for a Disco I but it is a place to start.
Have fun
Mike

RE: Few Interior question 96 discovery
Thank you Mike! I fixed the lights on the instrument panel and the door pocket. I am bringing my car in to land rover for the rear windows. Thanks for responding, especially about those amber turn signals I got so confused for a second. Thanks again-Suzanne
