Default A few key questions...

Just got a job at CarMax and I can get a great deal on a 2003/04 Discovery. I'm hesitant only becuase Land Rover doesn't quite have the reputation of a Toyota or Honda per say. Is it worth it? Am I going to be up a creek without a paddle in a few years with repair costs? I currently drive a 2X4 2004 Nissan Xterra and tt's killing me not having 4X4 and not having the option of extreme offroading, but I do feel confident it'll last me a while. What do ya'll have to say? Also, do you have to put premium gas in it? Let me know if ya'll don't mind. Thanks!

I'm no expert, but having asked many of these Qs to the actual experts.....

Yes, it is very possible to drop big, big, big bucks on repairs. I think anyone who has owned a Disco has dropped a few grand at some point in time....or will. I've been told by several people that Premium fuel is in fact necessary for a variety of reasons. I've only had mine a short while, but I keep plenty of extra room on one of my credit cards for potential shop days.

Food fer thought

If you work at carmax, can't you also sell yourself a sweet warranty? That'd add some protection...
