Default Finally! CDL! :)

Finally got the LT230 off a 2001 and onto my 2003, this was just far too much work but I'm glad it's finally done now. Anyone added the harness bits to get the CDL light on a 2003?

It's off at the shop now getting the Detroit swapped to an ARB, installed the compressor last night and will hook up the switches tonight and head out into the mud tomorrow morning and test everything out including 4 new DBA Gold rotors.

Probably got another week of work to get everything done (rear view camera, fixing door mounts for speakers, replacing all interior bits, etc) but it'll be nice to have the major mechanical bits out of the way.

How much $$ are you throwing into that thing man!? Just kidding, sounds like you're making yourself one serious toy. Had lockers and upgradeddiffson my previousjeep and had a ball. Definitely makes ahuge difference. Have to send some pics of your updates when you're done.

Just a thought for your switches, but you can get extra switches for your blanks around your steering wheel. You can also get another assembly like the one on your dash and replace the ashtray with it. Keeps it looking cleaner.....

Glad to hear you got it in.. Are you going with a solenoid or did you get a new shifter?

My CDL is activated by a switch that took the place of one of the blanks on each side of the steering wheel on the gauge surounds.. Nice thing is that I can activate it when in 4 hi, not only when it'sin 4 low.

If you have the Austrailian solenoid package like I do it is great. make sure though that if you want to do it on a roll that you are not under power, foot off the gas, and under 20MPH or you will cause t/case problems.

Thanks for the input. Yes my Disco has been in Europe for 3 years and the ex-owner had a solenoid type activator from a Rover specialist over there. To play safe,I wait till I'm completely stopped before activating it.

Ajh, You really have to show me this rig.

Last place I saw them advertised was a Safari Guard. They are getting rid of all their Rover stuff, they no longer advertise them, but I would call them and see if they can still get you one. Otherwise, you might try Bill at Great Basins Rovers, he doesn;t stock them but maybe he can point you in the right direction.

Try discoparts .com this is the company from which the ex-owner of my disco got it from in Europe. Here's a pic of the kit from their website. It even comes with the factory like switch that goes on the cluster surround.
