I'm going to do this post in bullet points after making an in depth write up and losing it all. This is probably for the better, I pretty much started with Adam and Eve on the last one, nobody would have made it through the whole post.
  • Bought my first Land Rover. 2004 Discovery II with 42935 miles
  • Saw it a week ago on Craigslist, looked at it Thursday
  • I live 4 hours away, price was very high (13998.00), so did much research on vehicle before deciding to look at it.
  • KBB value only 10800.00
  • Vehicle offered with 6 month/6000 mile warranty by Zurich, very comprehensive warranty, covers among MANY other things head gaskets on this vehicle (under 100K)
  • Found LR dealership which sold vehicle certified in 2008. Was leased vehicle before that. They did all services, most recent in August 2010.
  • Never been repaired
  • No issues in August of 2010, driven 1000 miles since then
  • Took into account warranty (according to internet anywhere between 1500-2000) offered 12800.00. (KBB value +2000 for warranty)
  • Agreed on 13000.00
  • Oh, forgot to mention vehicle is in very good shape, runs really well, pleasure to drive
  • Realize I didn't get a great deal on the surface, but how many 2004 Discovery II's are out there in such good shape with such low mileage?
  • I can't wait until tomorrow when I'm picking it up!

Not a terrible deal with that kind of mileage.
Welcome to the LR family!

Any plans to go off road?

thats a good price for a low miles 04. i paid 13k for my perfect 04SE in 2008. after that in the seattle area the prices went up and up for used rigs as new cars became out of reach for many middle class people. plus in the city i live in (kirkland) discos are status markers for housewives. i went to sears and there was a disco parking section it seemed. there were 4 DII's in a area of the lot. mine was the only one with any type of modification in terms of lift, tires etc. there is a woman who drives a LR3 in town with big tires, arb bumper and winch. snorkel etc. the truck it always finely detailed and looks showroom fresh. it has literally never left pavement. but people around here like to look rugged without actually getting dirty.

ok i am ranting.

welcome to the biggest money pit you will ever own. lol

cheers!

Thats a good deal. S with options or without? The non-leather interior ages better than the leather (front seat). Wondering of you have a(ny) sunroof? You have about a 1K more miles than my rig, but these cars in great shape are rare here in the SE USA so I would ask no less than 14K for my SE with HSE wheels and guard pkg.
