first head gasket job... still hot..
Hey guys, I just completed my first head gasket job, got everything put back together tonight, filled with fluids, and started it up. Sounded extremely good and smooth. Ran great for about 3-4 minutes at around 2,000 rpm and started to warm up. It got to desired running temp, rpm slowed to around 12-1300 and held there for two or three minutes. Then it started heating up....
I let it go up past where it should normally be and let it approach the 3/4 line but never letting it get that far, I shut it off.
No knocking, ticking, or any other odd noises came from the motor at anytime. I did have a lot of burn off from spilt oil etc., but that was expected.
It was very hot and still burning off spilt oil so I didn't get a great look at it, however, I did notice one small hose running from top of radiator to reservoir was loose and leaking some coolant. I tightened that up and called it a night.
Not sure that small leak from the one hose could cause it to run hot?
Any insight as to where I should go from here would be helpful.

I'll grab a pressure tester and temp reader today. I checked the hoses quickly this morning but will go back over every thing again. I'll be honest, it was late when I was finishing up last night and I may have rushed the final bit.<br />Will let you guys know what I can find out. Hopefully get this resolved soon!
