First Post is a noisy one. Wheel Bearing, Drive Shaft who knows?
If I put it in Park or Neutral it just sounds like a motor running if I put it in R. D. 1.2.3. I hear the noise in the video.
So that looks like it would rule out TC and Fly Wheel as both would be moving all the time when running?
So I Guess that leaves Transmission and Transfer Case.
The flange the front drive shaft bolts to has some up and down play in it. Perhaps the barring for the output shaft?
It would be nice if I could get the truck in drive without having the Transfer Case turning that would help me narrow down the noise.
I guess I could remove the transfer case I don't know...
gotcha
if its that output bearing it likely be more prevalent on deceleration. tension under load usually makes it less noticeable, then you unload and give it room to show itself. not the end all be all, but usually.
you can pull the inspection plate and have a look in the case.

Now that I have pulled the front drive shaft it makes the noise more or less all the time in a drive gear.
It's been a number of years since I have replaced any bearings in a transfer case and the last one I did was in a ford.
In the case of a Land Rover is it less work to just pull the whole transfer case or can the repair/replacement be done in truck?
