Fixed blower motor noise (?)
For the past few weeks my blower motor had sounded like a cricket on crack, but only after it had been running for 20+ minutes. I think I have cured it without having to spend $250 on a new blower motor.
I removed the blower motor and wheel from the blower housing per RAVE and removed 2 or 3 leaves from the wheel. I then removed the 2 torx screws from the end of the case, slid the motor out, and put some WD-40 in the bearing for good measure, reassembled and reinstalled. The noise returned within about 5 minutes.
I performed the same steps again, but this time, thoroughly cleaned the motor assembly internally with CRC Lectra- Motive cleaner, blew it dry with compressed air, put some PB Blaster in the bearing, reassembled and reinstalled.
So far, no noise after 30+ minutes of running!
*fingers crossed* and will report if noise returns
