Fixing my trail scar,.. from the city.
Yes the chassis frame is fully boxed unlike other trucks and SUV's, but what I meant was the structeral frame for the body.
The body panels themselves are not strong enough to just be mounted onto the chassis and then be driven down the road, they would fall aprt.
So just like the walls of a house they are fastened to a frame.

i will have to look at the Rave really good see how hard it will be to pull away all that plastic inside and get to those panels.... i know it won't be perfect and will still be all sorts of bumpy but as long as i get the main jist of that dent out and some color on it, that will make me feel a tad better. i have other little dents from car doors and shopping carts from over the years. **** the truck is 10 years old now and I'm the fourth owner. I'm ready to sand the whole thing and just spray it down with primer and truck liner.
As a fellow '99 niagara grey DII owner that had his rover keyed I feel your pain. Some touch up painted kind of covered up my scratches, but I don't think I would attempt to fix that kind of damage myself. A botched repair will probably look worse than it looks now.
maybe i will just try and get to it from the inside and bang out the panel a bit. and forget about the paint. i love how the rave manual gives you directions to replace whole panels....
