Looks like it would be brake fluid but it is not. I am thihnking something along the lines of a seal onthe hub? or maybe i am wrong. I will pull it apart this weekend and check it out, but wanted to know what i should be looking for.

Thanks in advance

Leaking axle seal.
It is the seal that goes between the hub and the axle.
Its a $.98 part.
Before you tear it all apart make sure your axle breather is not clogged.
If the diff gets over pressurized it will force gear lube out the seals.

Thanks for the heads up. I'd hate to have torn it down for it to be something small.

Yes.
I had a ripped hub oil seal.
On the DI there is a seal that goes between the stub axle and the hub assembly.
2 years ago when my wheel bearing welded itself to the stub axle it had to be ground off and this left a small bur on the stub axle.
You cannot see the bur but you can feel it with your finger.
Eventually it ripped the oil seal.
I had to replace the stub axle and the oil seal.
I still have my old stub axle, it makes a very nice paper weight.

Checked the axle breather and was able to blow into it and air moved so I'm on to the seal replacement. Unless anyone has another direction to move in?

Thanks for the help

I'm going to take a crack at it next weekend. In the hopes it's just the seal and not the hub itself is there anything I should be looking for or do while I have it apart?

If I get this thing apart and it is a hub as I have read quite a few bad stories about it being this issue and a new hub being the remedy. Would I need to buy the complete new hub (AB $400) with abs sensor or is this something I can trust to get from a local dealer who has a used, but warranties hub although without sensor for $150.00 and buy the sensor for 50.00 saving a bit of change?
