Fluid leakage & transmission issues
Hey guys, happy Sunday to everyone!!
I just came back from being out of town for a couple days & my lovely Disco is having some issues....after a nice stint of problem-free driving.
These may be no-brainer issues for you guys, but please excuse me, I'm a total newb.
Issue #1: After sitting for three days there is a large stain on my concrete where fluid was leaking. It is leaking from the front driver's side. I did not notice any leakage prior to it sitting, and due to the large amount of fluid it seems like I would have noticed at least few drops if the problem existed before. The brake fluid & power steering levels are a little low, but not significantly so. Any ideas of what this fluid is? And any ideas of what kind of repair I'm looking at?
Issue #2: Not sure if this is related, but the SES light is on, and the tranny limp mode lights are flashing. SES gives a code of P0741. It is starting in a higher gear like you'd expect from the limp mode.
I am hoping for some input on what the problems might be, as well as if it's ok to drive to the shop, or should I get it towed?
Thanks much!

That looks like power steering fluid; and you need to get that washed off as it will eat stuff i would look at the smaller hose on the bottom of the power steering pump the hose clamp is junk there fingers crossed.
Problem 2 i would get a test done on the battery as it may be low causing the lights to be illuminated.

Oh and you want to start it and see if the leak gets heavier when running and under pressure. It may show you exactly where the problem is. The code is usually a mass air flow sensor. A bad or dirty mass air flow sensor can and will cause transmission shifting issues. You could try to clean the mass air sensor but if you do you want to do it right. Use crc mass air flow cleaner in a spray xan and use light mists and then let it dry completely before re-install and starting.
