Default Fog lamp wiring

Disco 02, SE

I've installed two Hella fog lamps and ran all wires to a blank switch on the left hand side of my dash where the stock fog light switch is and I'm using a switch just like that. The problem is that I can't get the thing to wrok. The switch has 5 places that you can connect to and my fog lamp has only 3 wires, one is +, one is - and one is to carry the load. I have tyried every possible way that you can think of and at two different ways the light comes on but won't stay on and soon as I let the switch go, it goes down. Just so you know, I'm getting the + wire right from battery instead of getting from high-beam wire from the head lights.

TX, Ben

I take its a OEM switch. It is set up to cut out when you change to high
beams, it needs a feed to let it know that the low beams are on.
LOL Mike.

Stock fog lights on a D II '02

I realized my front left lower fog light wasn't working, so when I went to change the bulb, the metal part that slides into the bulb holder broke off because the bulb holder melted to itself and the bulb. Does any place sell JUST the bulb holder for the lower fog light? Is thisa common place event or what?
