Default Fog lamp wiring for driving lights?

So it's been a while since I've posted... life has been a little crazy the last few months.

I'm going to be ordering a new bumper here in the next couple weeks, and I have factory fogs in mine now. I would like to use the existing wiring and hook up some driving lights... is it that easy? or do I have to run new wiring?

Where's Buzz when you need him...

Are SavannahBuzz and DiscoMike around at all anymore?

Are you planning to use the driving lights instead of the fogs or as well as? The fogs are probably 55w each so a total of 110w which means about 9 amps.

Check the fuse rating for the front fogs (see the handbook). If it's 10 amp then you could use up to 110w of driving lights (55w each) and a 20 amp rating would allow you to use double that.

Thanks for the reply. Ya I was planning to use the driving lights INSTEAD of the fogs. I'll dig into the rave and see what I can find as far as wattage and amps.

The front fog lights are protected by a 15A fuse (F3 in the engine compartment fuse box), and are wired in 1.5mm² cable (20A rated).

Correct me if I am wrong, but on 04 when fog,s are on if I turn high beam, fog's turn off , is it different In 2000 model? Because if it's same way U won't have driving- lights and high beams on at same time if U want max visibility, ( maybe U can twick the wires so they come on together, but I don't know how.)

The BCU settings can be changed to allow front fog lamps to be illuminated at the same time as the main (high) beams.

I posted some info on this, here - https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...-lights-66143/
