Better squeeze some grease into those grease fittings. Looks a little dry.

They may be for or CDL switch. The little light on the dash that lights up when your T-case is locked.

Drop some grease into those u-joints

Thanks, I will. There are connectors on the other side of the t case that are actually connected but theses look like they have been loose for some time. Cant find a place for them anywhere.

You are supposed to grease that drive shaft every oil change.

What year is your truck

Lets say the t-case is a factory installed unmodified unit. I believe those two wires are for a cdl switch. They probably installed the same wiring harness in the '02 models.

Land Rover is infamous for, among other things, using a universal wiring harness for different applications. You'll have random wires & connectors all over your vehicle with nothing to connect them to.
As for CDL, the first years of the Discovery II had the linkage in the transfer case, but the shift lever to engage it was optional. I've read that one can still use it by crawling under the truck and turning a wrench on the top of the transfer case, if one really wanted to. Up to model year 2000, it was fairly simple to remove the console and install a CDL shifter. Not sure about 2002 though.

Do they look like any of these? I think those are C0306 and C0307, for the differential lock unit (which you may not have). They would connect to the harness and headers and tell the SLABS and BCU when you have the CDL engaged. One would have a black wire, the other a black with blue wire.

Or - could be for the Flux Capacitor that lets you run on 100 octane gas from the pump for 25 cents a gallon, and some dude puts it in for you and washes the windows. Maybe your model just has the radio button that brings in the music from that era, most popular for Disco's is certainly Heatwave.....
