I found a DI for $950.

He says the transmission is good but the power steering is loud and leaking. Is this a good buy or pass it up.

Edit:
I also found another 97 DI for $500. non drivable for parts only. I wish he says whats the problem. What do you guys think of the money and effort needed to get these back in running condition?

You coming to your senses or what?
The leaking power steering can be a easy fix or a not so easy cosly one depends on how bad the leak is, how long they have ran it low on fluid and what exactly is leaking, is it the steering box or a hose? He says hose but I never trust anyones ad.
What would you do with it if you bought it?
Have you gotten permission from your wife to buy it?
He says the trans is good but what is he hiding by saying that?
Now if he said "engine trans and t-case are all good" I would be less worried.
Go drive it and see what you think.
Might beable to bring it home for $800, fix it up for $1000 and sell it for $2200 or so.

I'll see if he even allows test drive or not. I do hope to get a DI one day to equipped it to a wheeler. Oh and spike, I don't have a wife just yet. Originally Posted by Spike555

Well, maybe I'll go check it out and pinpoint where the power steering leak is at.

At the very least he should let you take it around the block, even with him in the back seat.
Just turn off the stereo and listen for any noises and check the oil and coolant before you start it.
