No Doubt why do you say “maybe” to the key fob programming? Haven’t tried yet or tried and failed?

Well, the NT510 let me program into my Disco 2 the 6 digit hex key on the circuit board of a used remote key fob that I bought off of eBay (so, this key was not originally "paired" or synchronized to my Disco2).

...and the NT510 changed the displayed BarCode2 to match my eBay key, so the radio transmission aspect on my Disco2 is working, seeing the key, getting the barcode data #, etc. I never keyed in that information. My Disco's BCU had to get that information via radio xmission from the eBay key itself.

...but the eBay key still isn't unlocking or locking my Disco2 remotely.

This is a Dealership junkyard Disco2 that was never delivered to me with any working key fobs, so the jury is still out on if I can get this feature fully working on my Disco2.

So with the above said, I'm wondering if:
#1: a Hawkeye unit could activate the function of a remote key fob unlock/lock since I've programmed in the barcode1 info with the NT510 already, or
#2: if I need to try a brand new remote key fob that comes with 2 barcodes

I dug further into the NT510 and the 2 barcodes that it generates for the FOB are incorrect.

Worse, when you manually input the 18 digit and 17 digit codes (a real pain on the Foxwell virtual "keyboard" by the way), the NT510 overwrites the first and last digits with an "X" no matter what you put in to the first barcode.

...so it's difficult for me to see the NT510 with code released prior to November 2017 ever getting a used key fob to work remotely with a Disco 2.

From my understanding the first and last number will always default, as they have no correlation with the actual fob programming. Have you tried the worksheet using the 6 digit code and wnterig what you get from there?

im very interested in if this function works as my local dealer will no longer program D2 keys fobs.

On the verge of buying one of these, pending confirmation of remote key programming.. Maybe I should just buy one anyways to bleed the brakes.

Any update No Doubt? Do you have the option to input the 18/17 digit codes manually? Or does it only allow the 6 character?

Both, sort of.

It takes the 6 digit code and generates the 18 digit and 17 digit bar codes, except that the 2nd and second to last characters are "X" on the 18 digit code.

It also allows you to laboriously key in the 18 digit and 17 digit barcodes by hand, except that no matter what you type, the 2nd character and second to last character are changed by the NT510 to "X" on the 18 digit code.

Would you say it's still worth buying?

I borrowed a friend's BMW NT510 to reset my wife's X5 remaining mileage countdown after I refilled the DEF. I was really impressed with his Foxwell with all the options that were given for BMWs.
Here are screen shot pics that I found online of some of the BMW functions ...

I tried the key programming function on my Foxwell NT-510 and couldn’t get it to work either.
Just like No Doubt stated, nothing works after entering either the 6 digit code from the key fob or the 18 digit code from the scientific calculations excel spreadsheet.... yet. I sent a message to Foxwell’s help line and they replied that updates are in work.
Here are the screen shots of the Key programming screens...

Here are screenshots of the brake’s special function options (1) modular bleed and (2) power bleed functions that really work on m Disco...

There is also an option to reset the ECM and ECU adaptions which I didn’t try since I don’t know exactly what this does to my electrical system...
