Corroseal is an all-in-1 rust convertor/seal and is waterproof. If you could get it on the inside, it should be a 1-time application. I'll be trying this in a couple weeks.

Love to hear how these treatments work. I am going to try eastwood and will try to get some before and afters up.

Got it done. Here's what I had to work with:

Need a sprayer, hammer (small sledge works best) scraper, CHEAP paint brush and wire brush.

You should place disposable bowls below each hole in the frame and then spray inside the frame. There are holes all along the sides and with the sprayer nozzle, you can get pretty good coverage but it will leak out the holes on the bottom of the frame, hence the bowls.

Use the paint brush then with the overflow in the bowls to paint the outside of the frame. Here's what I got from scraping and banging on the frame.

Painting on is a easy 1 step process.

Here's what it looks like dried:

Overall job took about 2.5 hrs and was fairly straightforward. I am hugely impressed with the results, but I really won't be able to know the longevity of the process for several years (hopefully!). The rear was the worst and the front needed very little...touch up only. If you have a 3rd row, for some reason the rear step is really bad and took a bit of scraping to get the loose stuff off.

This rig spent 9 of 10 years of it's life in Chicago...salt city!

I used 1 QT of Corroseal and have about 1/3 of it left. You could get away with ordering less, but then there may not be enough for the sprayer to suck up. It was $22 and is a all-in-1 convertor and protectant. I have no idea how it stacks up to comparable products, but it was the only one I could find that performed both functions is 1 application (I covet my time!).
