CAN is the network that the different computers in the car talk to each other on. That sounds like the ECM and the transmission computer are having trouble hearing each other. Is your electrical system in good repair? How much voltage do you have with the engine off, and how much with the engine running?

Good catch - dual battery hookup might, depending on wiring.....

Default OBD....CODES? Ha

I just got an ULTRA GAUGE, I plug it in, or attempt to...the port is MIA...I find it, ( stuffed back in behind the bottom cover...not a good sign) it's missing the retainer, bezel whatever holds it in place, I'm not feelin' happy about this...
So, I plug the UG in and WaLaa, it starts scanning, it just never stops...I plug it into the Toy, WaLaa, it scans, it reads, so it's not the problem...

The Disco's throwing a CEL, can't read it...what I really WANT is COOLANT TEMP!
So, obviously, there is current at the port, but no other signals. Is this a "somewhat" "common" malady? The only other threads I found were pretty ancient and was solved by replacing the Alarm mod to accompany it's matching ECU from a wreaking yard...which had been swapped out due to h2o damage...However, that port was KIA until the alarm mod swap...

I just bought this thing a couple of mths back, who knows, the ECU could have been unilaterally swapped out...Any way to determine this? Also, if anyone has anyother insight into this, I would greatly appreciate your input.
Thanks
PS did the heads
