Default Front bumper opinions please

Hello,

Looking for some opinions on a new front bumper, I bought my rover with the current bumper. It just protrudes, not really into it. Was thinking ebay? Probably doesn't fit and needs heavy mods is my only reservation. what do you guys think I should do? Thoughts appreciated!

tactical rovers, original safari gard (not the "new" crap) or RTE. None cheap but they are the best out there. Also check Range rover classic classifieds as they fit as well, so you can find some that may just need to be blasted and re-powdercoated.

The aftermarket bumper with the LED Light Bar & Red Shackles is about a strong as the OEM Plastic egg crate bumper. It's not a solid bumper, it's modular pieces bolted together. If you were in an accident or did some damage off road it's probably going to do way more harm to your D2 than good. I have a a TF bumper on my Kalahari, with the integrated steering skid plate, and I installed a Warn M8 winch and the only thing showing is the solenoid box. No cutting the grill no nothing so it looks very OEM. Very clean install, and low profile. I also like the skid plate for the washer bottle.

As others mentioned Tactical Rover, original SG products, and RTE are the HD way to go for sure.

I have the eBay front and rear bumpers on the little lady's mall crawler. The rear needs mods to fit properly on the side body lines and the plastic trim on either side above the bumper on the rear quarters.

Like previously mentioned it isn't strong and wouldn't trust it to pull out much more than an ATV in the mud. They don't weigh much and with a cheap winch give her exactly the look she wants on a cheap budget. If she was to actually want to go wheeling I'd break out my welder and beef it up, starting with welding the 3 bolted on pieces together and additional bumper to frame bracing.

It won't keep a northern cow sized deer off your grill but would do just fine for southern smaller deer not much bigger than your average German shepherd. Hitting a Prius head on with an arb will likely render your frame unusable anyway.

She has Terra 3 inch lift springs and clears 285/70/16 mud terrains with no scraping. With a heavy armour bumper she'd need more lift and or heavier springs.

I tested & verified the solenoid box will not hit anything while off roading. The fairlead will hit something before the solenoid box does.

Did you have to modify the front bumper at all?
