Front drive shaft
You may have a CDL t/case depending on the production date, what was it?
Have you ever rebuilt a double cardon drive shaft, you will have to replace the centering ball as well as all 4 u-joints if they haven't been grease every oil change.

You should have CDL installed on your truck. Though you will have to climb under it to turn the "nut" on top of the transfer case out put. Search CDL on this site there is alot of info. Shaft is a little tricky to rebuild if you havent built one before. I damaged the new centering ball on my first attempt. $42 mistake.
Engaging the CDL splits torque from the transfer case 50/50 to front and rear driveshafts, instead of whatever ratio the differential in the transfer case allows for when the CDL is not engaged. If you remove a driveshaft, and do not lock the CDL, the vehicle will not move, because ALL torque is going to the end with no resistance (the one w/o driveshaft). Locking the CDL allows power to be sent to the rear driveshaft while the front is removed.
thanks for the info. so got my CDL on now and i went to drop drive shaft with a 14mm and it on so tight that its slipping off the bolt, only let it happen twice then i stopped is there a trick or something because i don't want to round these off
