Default Front Driveshaft - Cracked Rubber Seal

As title says, the outer seal on the centering ball section is showing age. It is cracked through to the inner metal.

Googling doesnt come up with much about this issue. I did find stuff that says the Tom Woods doesnt have a seal, but thats probably cause the ball is greasable.

I was gonna fill it with liquid tape. Should I find a replacment somehow?

Mine looks just like that. I filled it with grease, and plan to keep a close eye on it until the Minister of Finance approves a re-build.

Cool. I liquid taped it. Looks better than it was at least.

Or, you can order the rubber seal and do it right.

I think there might be some confusion. The seal posted, I've never seen available anywhere. The seal that the tom woods shaft does not have that the factory shafts do have is the gaiter: http://www.rovahfarm.com/images/TVE100000.png

Here's a listing of part numbers depending on what series joints you have: http://www2.dana.com/pdf/J300-P5.pdf The seal is listed as the "slinger." It looks like the 2-86-418 is the correct one, but if someone has their propshaft out they can confirm it. You can get one online http://www.actionmachineinc.com/2-86-418.aspx or probably from any local driveline shop.

I've seen that gaiter for sale on Atlantic British. Is it a difficult fix?
