Default front end noise

I have been hearing an odd clicking noise when i drive forward or reverse with a turn. Guys at LR thinks its the front drive shaft but i just this past week swapped out the ujoint with the greasable joint and it still makes the same noise. I was wondering if it could be CV joints but they tell me they do not have closed CV joints ,. they are open joints but it could be. Does anyone have any info relating to it. I have a disco 2003 with 69,000 miles on it. I hope it is not my differential or something else major i just dropped a computer in the abs module this week at LR for 1500.00 Caleb

Sounds like a CV joint to me. That's where they tend to first exhibit problems, when turning.
If it only happens when you're turning then the people at LR are complete idiots for even suggesting the propshaft and you need to find another mechanic.

Have an indy shop do it. More than likely the indy shop will use LR parts or something better and cost you a lot less than the dealer.

Depending on your wheeling there are a few different CV's on the market.
If you are hearing this clicking sound, is it when turning left or right?
When you rebuilt the drive shaft, did you replace the centering ball, if not, it could be failing again already.

You can do this...http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/TDR100790.cfm

i believe it is when turningin both directions. Mike i was hearing this noise way before i changed out the ujoint. I only changed the ujoint as a preventative measure. The shop told me they looked brand new when they looked at it. caleb
