Before you drive it any more or try other fixes, deal with the drive shaft, if it fails, it can cost you a new tranny also.

Mike just to make sure we are on the same page: when you say driveshaft are you referring to what rave calls the driveshaft which is the solid shaft located inside the axle housing, or the shaft connecting the.center differential to the axle that rave calls a prop shaft, but is comply referred to on american vehicles as the driveshaft?

I'm under my truck now. The front is deff not a rotoflex. It looks like a standard shaft with a knuckle at each end.

Ok I just drove up to my tire shop for a rotation and balance. No symptoms occurred. This is driving me nuts. I could not find anywhere on the propshaft for grease

The rear would have the roto flex.

The English term is propshaft.

Thanks Anti, Mike, and others. I found the 4 fittings there now and just did a 2:30 am run to the local walmart for some grease so I can hit those first thing. I'll replace the u joints in just a few weeks.

If it's the propshaft vibration usually means a u-joint journal is binding (provided there isn't an visible u-joint failure) and requires replacement.

Ok keep your fingers crossed. I have my parts, page 600 in the rave book marked, and hopefully the rain will stop in a few hours. Time to replace the up joints in the front tonight, and the rear if I still have time.
