Default Front hub squeal

Ever since I had my brake kit installed, I am getting a squealing sound from the front passenger side. The mechanic really beated the front rotor to death b/c they say it "was really rusted"

Here is a sound clip:

I have been doing some reading here on the forum and so people said to stop driving the truck? Is it necessary, if indeed the problem is in the hub and will need replacement?

I am planning on purchasing a pro line hub from Rovers North.

Also, I read that if the hub is the problem, the 3 amigos will light? My 3 amigo has not lite yet. Should I wait until the light to come on?

I appreciate your help. Also, I have UrbanP's link http://www.discovery2.co.uk/

I couldnt hear anything.

If the hub seizes you could crash and you will be stranded.
If there is enough play in the hub to put the exciter ring out of alignment with the ABS sensor then the 3 amigos will come on.

Have you looked into a used hub?

If they really abused it, sounds like might be wheel bearings. Check rovah farm, $75 cheaper than rovers north

An used hub from roverland parts is $239 while a brand new one from rover north is $299.

I will be ordering them on Monday, hopefully the hub will last for about a wee.

Did yours start making that sound again torancis? I haven't heard it in mine in since that day, everything seems to be ok for now. I actually found quite a bit of dried mud stuck to my front left brake caliper and cleaned it out, thinking that may have been the cause of it.

discoinchatty, yes the sound came back, this time much louder. I maybe should take off the tire and see whats going on.

I would not be using a mechanic that has to beat on it that hard to remove it.

Find a new mechanic or learn to do it yourself.

Danny Lee, you are absolutely right, my lesson learned.

I will keep everyone updated as to what I find.

Default UPDATE Everyone!!!

So, after taking the wheel off, putting it back on and checking for play, I came to the conclusion that the squeal is the new EBC greenstuff making the noise.

Many people said the greenstuff is noisy but I am not aware how a brake squeal sounds like.

The sound stops when the brake rotor and pads are warm. So, no problem!

I did not realize that you had put new brakes on.
