Front Shock Towers - Best Replacement Option?

Default Front Shock Towers - Best Replacement Option?

Getting ready to install a 2" OME lift and I'm pretty sure I'm going to need to replace my shock towers due to corrosion around the bottom ring.

What's the best option?

I like the looks of the TerraFirma Aftermarket Towers, but it appears they don't make them for the DII.

Rover's North has a heavy Duty set that look pretty nice.

I wonder if the design of those aftermarket type towers might allow more road grime to enter the engine bay.

Thoughts?

Terrafirma TF534 are the shock towers for a DII.

Thanks for the tip on the TerraFirma Skeleton Towers. I missed those on the website.

I may try to locate a set of corrosion free stock towers. Not sure I would benefit from the aftermarket towers and may be able to find some stock ones significantly cheaper.

Ended up ordering some used ones from RoverLand Parts... Much less expensive than new replacements or aftermarket options... Since I'm not into rock crawling or other aggressive off-roading, I don't really see the need to upgrade to the aftermarket heavy duty ones available...

I don't know if it is officially approved but when I changed shocks I turned the towers around 180 degrees so I could fit the socket on the nut on the engine side where there is more room. they appear to by symmetrical so I don't think it's a problem. Made accessing the nut way easier though.

You can buy galvanized towers or the other option is to have the existing towers
galvanized which should be very cheap to do.

I took you guys' advice and turned the shock towers around. It sure does make access easier... Wonder why they would have installed them the other way from the factory... I'm guessing that they install them before they mate the body to the chassis, so that would make installation of the bolt easier from the side of the assembly line...

My shocker towers seem in good condition, no rust, so I'll keep them. Does turning them around for bolts access create other issues or weak points?
