Default Front turn signal lights - newb question

Hi everyone, the front signals work fine when using them as blinkers, but they dont light up at night as driving lights. Is there a fuse i should check?

I believe you mean "running lights", as opposed to "driving lights".

If someone's put a single filament bulb in there, that's probably the problem. I'm accustomed to that being a 2-filament 1157, on most cars, though I admit all the manuals I have handy are D2, and don't apply to your car.

Did you double check that the *socket* has only a single center connector?

Well here's an odd thing.

Mine don't light up either, and I hadn't gotten around to checking into why yet... but NHTSA -- and my local laws -- *require* that you have amber front marker lights.

So there has to be something else at work here.

i checked the socket, and its single.... wierd so they never did light up like driving lights only when i use the blinker? can someone verify off their disco 1 ?

EDIT ( okay verified that the socket is single type, but the bulb is a 1156 single filament ) So would a 1157 bulb fit on this bulb socket?

Laws "require" amber lights, but if you get a cop pulling you over for something that dumb...

I don't think they were designed to come on as running lights. That is why the headlights light up really dim when you turn the switch to the running light position.

Cops will pull you over for lighting problems every day.

I believe that only applies in DRL-required jurisdictions, which US was not at that time. Canada was. Mine don't. (2000)

1157 is a twin filament bulb
1156 is a single you need a single if you have a single filament socket
