Default Frozen door hinges

Is it common for ice to build up behind the front by door hinges? This is the second time this year I’ve already had to clean them out.

That's really strange...

Do you have leaking sunroofs?

rain gutter installed?

Looks like drainage from the cowl area that's frozen into puddles. Probably not normal (?) to puddle/freeze there and you could have some debris or ice dams diverting the normal flow.

I’ve sealed my sunroofs over with removable silicone so it’s not them, I’ll take a look around the cowling.

I have found the rubber door seal freezes or even the lock mechanism to the door but never the hinge. May I suggest that you park with the rear into the wind and the front slightly pointing uphill if possible. Also if possible park the truck in a garage or barn away from the snow and ice. Try spaying the hinges with some WD40 or antifreeze (if it's non corrosive)

Lol. I was about to post what are nearly identical pictures. We both have the same running boards by the looks of it. I think maybe they allow it to start backing up and then it’s just drip drip drip and it builds up.
It can be dangerous with a long period of the wrong weather - that ice jam can fill the space entirely and you don’t notice until you use the whole leverage of the door to bend the bottom corner. I’m surprised that’s not damage I see more. Must keep an eye out for it.
