Other than making sure the engine is in a good state of tune, and possibily running synthetic lubricants throughout the vehicle --there is no "quick-fix" for increasing the gas mileage on these vehicles. To improve over the standard efficiency from the factory requires modifications to the intake system, exhaust system, and internal engine modifications that are just not cost-effective.

The Tornado device you mention has been tried by a few of our customers----with no perceptible difference.

If you bought the vehicle with gas mileage being a concern, then I have to say you missed the design emphasis Land Rover touts, and that is very capable off-road performance with above average luxury in the passenger cabin.

Thanks, Geoman. Didn't buy the vehicle for fuel mileage --- live on ranch and this vehicle will go places where a 4x4 pickup won't. But with fuel going up, I was looking for some help.

You really don't have many if any ways to improve your mileages.
A couple people have been using acetone, 3 ounces per tank and say they are getting a couple more MPG, haven't tried it my self.

I found an interesting device for our Land Rovers. It is a onboard computer that tell MPG, coolant temp, intake air temp and much more. It is also a scan tool that reads codes and resets engine light. if anyone tries one of these please tell us how it works.

I read some feedback from a VW tdi club and they all seem to like this scan gauge.

I put a snorkel on to keep the intake clean and it helped about 3/4 mpg hwy.
I used the Camel style (metal).
