Default Fuel light/Gauge ?

OK this might sound like a stupid question but seeings how the fuel light come on at a 1/8th of a tank (in my truck at least) little premature if you ask me. how far can you get or even go into the red before it'll run out?? I now it's different on all make so I figured I'd ask. I had a 1/2 tank and I'm now in-between a 1/8th and E with about 152.?miles on the trip meter.

Best advice: fill up before you hit 1/4. Your fuel pump will live longer.
You have a 25gal tank and you get about 12MPG, figure it out... it sounds right.

page 47, Land Rover Owner's Handbook:

"When the fuel remaining in the tank is
approximately 3.75 gallons (14 litres), the
AMBER low fuel warning light in the fuel gauge
illuminates. If the light illuminates, refuel at the
first opportunity."

If you do not have the hard copies that came with your vehicle, electronic version here: Land Rover Owner Information (prs01736)
