Fuel pump options
It has been suggested in another thread I posted that my fuel pump may be on its way out. As a recap, after my truck sits for a while it seems to have a slightly slower startup (maybe an extra turn or 2) and has no power for the first 30s or so of driving. Power seems to step up little by little rather than just kick in. It is accompanied by some popping sounds from the front driver side area. It also has weaker than usual acceleration even in "sport" mode.
All that being said and seemingly pointing more and more to a fuel pump....what options do I have? Is a used pump too much of a risk tho its cheaper or should I go pay the $380ish for a new one from AB? Or is there a cheaper place I can get a reliable one? Also, how do I find out for sure if mine has the evap pressure loss sensor?

Go to AutoZone and check their price, thats where I got mine.
You can tell the evap code by your VIN#, look at fuel pumps on AB's web site, it will list 2 different pump's for your truck and will tell you which VIN needs which pump.

IF you are cagey, you can read the OEM brand and part number off of the fuel pump
itself.
Google for it.
And then just replace that part.
Will take a lot of skill.
The advantage of replacing it all is that the gas gauge will read correctly with the new innards.

How much time and headache and cost would it be to get the sender re-calibrated when installing a full new unit? Is there a chance it'll work plug and play or am I definitely going to have to find a shop?
I agree, do a fuel pressure test first.
As for buying a used pump, you are buying a used problem.
Most part stores have just the replacement motors, made by Airtex, for around $70 you can fix the problem.

well its obviously a pressure issue of some sort (if that's caused by the pump I don't know). Today when my truck was trying to climb a highway hill with cruise on at about 70mph it started stuttering, I thought it was going to stall so slowed down to get ready to pull over then it stopped and what little power it has came back.
