Default fuel pump problem???

I have a 1996 Discovery, bought with125,000 miles ran super. Now has 127,000 mile and won't start. I replaced fuel pump, as I could not hear it click on, replace with new one, which is not pumping, checked electrical connections at connector with test light, which come on when turning motor over. Also fuel gage works when ignition is on. There was not pressure at injector rail. I do get some fuel coming out the return side line, when I was checking out the new pump. I am stumped, any suggestions as to what to check next would be greatly appreciated.

fuel filter, can you hear the pump run when you turn the key on, you should be able to hear it right away when you turn on the key.

particially clogged fuel line. fuel filter. If the pump is not working check the relay that controls the pump and the one for fuel pressure monitors. You can have good electical at the connections, relays and fues can be the secondary problem. rovers north has a tech section that might have some info for you. hope it helps,Duboff
