Fuel saver chip and installation

RE: Fuel saver chip and installation
Let's think about this logically folks. If a $9.99 part (retail) gives you an extra 5-10 mpg why in the world would they not be a part of the original equipment. There is a ton of pressure (economic, politicial, social, etc.) on auto makers to get the mpg higher. If they could add an additional 5-10 mpg to a car's rating for something as inexpensive as a "magic chip" they would be doing it.
Further, at least here in the U.S., it would be all over the news, the auto stores, heck some places might even mandate the upgrade in an effort to be more pleasant to the environment. I am not saying that everything sold at autozone, or wherever, is worthless when it comes to improving mpg or hp, but a one time fix for $10, really. Take fuel additives for example. Most tend to help mpg/hp within a tank or two, but your car will revert back to its former mpg/hp after a while w/o further maintenance.
There is a reason for the addage "If it's too good to be true, it probably is." This is yet another excellent example.
Just my two cents.

KeizerRoveris using what we like to call "common sense". This is exactly what the Ebay scammers hope you don't have.
A little off topic but since we are talking about improving fuel mileage does anyone know if snorkels on these trucks work kinda like a cold air intake since they draw air a good distance from the hot engine area? Wouldn't you see some improved performance with that?
