no, factory thermostat mod.

go halfway down the page. This mod replaces the factory plastic housing with the thermostat molded in and makes it so you have more adjustment to change the temp of the thermostat that you install. I'm sure that there are other advantages/disadvantages to this as well. I have not done this mod personally, and I am not planning on it either; unless I can justify why it would be necessary.

Instead of the inline thermostat I went with the 180 motorad thermostat that crosses over from the Freelander. It supposedly can drop your temps by as much as 10 degrees. I havent been able to report on it yet because my truck isn't running currently.

Thats what i did too. It runs about 4-5 degrees cooler.

What year freelander was this off of? Part# by chance? Will this fit my 04?
