Default funky tranny feeling then ultra gauge shows all 'err'

starting a few months back the ultra gauge would all of a sudden show 'err' in all fields except for rpm. I have determined this only happens when i am coming to a stop or taking a slow turn when the tranny needs to move into 1rst gear.

any ideas?

I'd look at electrical connections including grounds, from battery, fuse box, and tranny module. The inside fuse 20 should be exammed as well, it powers the OBDII port. The pink wire on pin 7 of the OBDII port runs to every ECU in the truck, like a party line. A ground on it would cause all kinds of fun with the display.

Sounds like I need to check the grounds. Beyond being intact and not corroded any tips for things to look for?

Plug in a real scanner so you can capture the codes when they pop up.
When was the last time you checked your tranny fluid level or serviced it?

The Ultra-Gauge is a real scanner.
It shows trouble codes and live data and everything.
You need to get one Mike, you'll love it.

Mike, I'm starting to look at scanners to decide which way to go. I've never heard anything negative about the UltraGauge and was leaning that way. Before I pull the trigger on it, what can your 3130 do that an UltraGauge can't? Advantages?

Some ppl are just stuck in their old ways and snake oil.

The ultra gauge us made to be mounted to constantly tell you live data as you drive when you drive. The other is just a scanner tool
