My 99 Discovery series 2 needs a new under the dash fuse box, when replacing it, would I probably need to get a new one or would a used one be a good bet?
Also, where are some good places be to buy one?

What is wrong with the one that you have now?

 

For some reason, they get moisture in them and it corrodes the circuit boards.

That "fuse box" you are referring to is actually called the Intelligent Driver Module.

When the green board inside that thing corrodes, it causes all sorts of random electrical problems.

I got mine used from Will Tillery @ roverguy.com for $100 shipped to my door.

Never had a single problem with it, and install took about an hour.

Well, we were having several weird electrical problems, for example the blower motor wasn't getting power (the a/c and heat were working) yet the battery and it were fine. So I finally took it to a mechanic after doing everything I knew, and the internal fuse box under the dash is bad. They didn't tell me if it was moisture or not, but that's what I suspect. I went ahead and bought one new because I wasn't sure about a used one. 320 with shipping.
