Default Gas leak

So as I was getting ready to leave the house this morning I discovered that I couldn't start the truck. I smelled gas, got out and what do you know there is a puddle of gasoline right under the front draft and transmission. I have a feeling that it's coming from some line behind the engine. Any usual suspects?

quick suck that up! its $4 a gallon!!!! no idea you will have to check the line back to the tank and see if it just came loose or is actually punctured or torn. anything can fail at any time no usual suspect on leaks.

Ok well just to make sure. The reason I can't start the truck is because I'm out of gas correct?
I drove it home last night with the gas light on. I was going to fill it up on my way this morning. So I'm guessing I have zero gas now.

yeah. it won't start without gas. before putting more gas in it. you either A search and find the leak yourself or B have it flat bedded to a mechanic who can find it.

when the light comes on you should have about 3 gallons of gas left in the tank.

Maybe the fuel line disconnected from the fuel rail and that is the fuel leak you see under the truck. Very dangerous if you get gas on the hot exhaust = flash fire.

Check on the backside of the motor where the line connects to the fuel rail. This is the most likely spot since the puddle was underneath the trans. Not sure if that is a quick connect fitting or threaded. Good luck and keep the fires in the bedroom!

picture courtesies of darylj... youll probably have to go by feel to see if its loose up there.

second the bring it to a mechanic, why risk it at all. if it came from there, thats a hop skip and a jump for a bug from the ignition coils and wires... spark, spark, spark, spark. boom.... 3 minutes later youll have a smoking ruin of rusty steel... and dont forget anything around ie. garage, house, trees, pets, family :-/

Thanks guys, that picture is very helpful. Will I have to take the intake off or should I be able to feel for it back there?
