Default Gas Opinion

I was looking through the manual and I realized that it recommends premium fuel. I was unaware of this and I have been using regular. Do you all recommend that I make the switch? Or is there something else I could do. What problems could occur if I don't use premium? I dont have a problem switching but I just want to know if it's completely necessary.

THANKS
Cameron

If you continue to run regular, you will carbon up the engine and possibly damage some valves. As the sticker says inside your gas door, premium only.
You will also get about 2 more MPG on the road with the good stuff.

X2 on that one. You will notice it running better. Throw a can of Seafoam in the tank. Running regular will carbon up your engine with unburned fuel. Might clog the injectors too....

Run premium always....

Can you get seafoam from autozone? I don't believe I've ever seen it at any of the local part stores.

oh yeah. Wal-mart has it too. My Grandpa used it in his old 72 Mercury outboard all of the time. I thought it was just for boats. I used it fir induction cleaning, and man, I noticed a difference. If you haven't done it yet, I would do it. It will smoke like a pig, but it cleans it out...

Thanks guys, I will definatly switch to premium, it will be worth the money in the long run. Hopefully there hasn't been to much damage done. Thanks for the input!

You can usually find SeaFoam everywhere but you may have to ask for it. Some of the big places like Wal-Mart may have only two or three cans out in the shelf in a single-file line. And like a prev post, it may be in the marine section.

Because I recently did my heads and cleaned out the intake etc., I think I'll wait on the induction but dump a can in my tank next time I fill up.

Seafoam works great in the gas tank. You can find it at autozone.
