I recently have begun to smell gas inside the car. When I go out in the morning and open the door I can smell it. Any ideas? I see no leaks anywhere. Thanks.

So you go to the gas station.
You fill it up.
Then you try to fill it again by clicking the nozzle
you do this three or four times.

maybe you bounce on the bumper too -
to burp out the bubbles?

Well, that extra gas goes into the charcoal filters.
And into the cabin of the discovery.

and gas can cause cancer too from excess exposure.

Moral of the story --
When it clicks off - tank is full.

That's it.
Plus fighting the over flow valve on the gas pump also irritates others on the same supply by changing the delivery pressure and making their nozzle click off from the "hammer" effect of your bumping the gas delivery.

So, don't do that.

 

had the same issue once a while back.......turned out to be a rotten (rusted) fuel line connector on the top of the pump....it was seeping fuel but never left a puddle.....until I touched it LOL ......, roll up he carpet in the back and have a look

 

I say a cracked fuel pump.

Get under the rear end of the truck and smell for gas...

It could be a bad seal also, but these fuel pumps crack. Well.. Mine did st least....

 

gas leaks can be difficult to find because gas evaporates within minutes, you may never SEE the leak

 

1) meh, prolly just a fuse... (thanks Dusty, that's such a classic!)
2) don't use a lighter to look for the leak.

i have used that junk in everything except the fuel.

 

Could be: O rings on fuel injectors. Evaps problem (P0440?) Fuel pump top cracked, fuel pump outlet leaking, fuel rail inlet leaking. You could jump the fuel pump relay for a while and see where the fuel is leaking.
