Arrow Gaskets Needed?

Just double checking before I place an order, the only gaskets I would need to do a valve cover gasket replacement job would be, one throttle body gasket and one upper intake manifold gasket, right?

on my 99, I've removed the upper intake with the throttle body still attached.

I did the same thing on my '03.

I would say you need the valve cover gaskets and intake gasket. That's it.

x3 We did the same on our 2003 and makes for one less gasket.

Our valve cover bolts came out by hand. Be very careful removing the valve covers because the brass crush rings will fall off the old gasket and could drop down into the motor.

We also used blue thread locker on the valve cover bolts and followed Disco Mike's advice and torqued the valve cover bolts at bit more than what RAVE specified. Sorry but I do not remember the exact value.

I wished I had checked the intake bolts for the proper torque but I guess this is how we learn.

Yeah the valve cover bolts are a bitch. They keep coming loose and leaking oil. Be sure to tighten the fire out of them and use some type of loctite product.

Thinking I may need to do this job fairly soon as well. It looks like in order to pull the passenger (right) valve cover I will need to disconnect the coolant line from the intake manifold. Is this correct? I'll need an o-ring for that too if it is disconnected, correct? So I'll need valve cover gaskets, manifold to plenum gasket, and an o-ring to do the job. As long as I don't waste the SAI tubes when I take them off. While I'm at it and the belt is off, I should probably replace the idler pulley bearings also. Does anybody have bearing numbers for these?

All above is correct and the o-ring is a speciality item. Do not know the pulley bearing number and AB sells a kit with all the pulleys at a reasonable price. If you do one maybe do them all at the same time.

For the SAI, there is a speciality wrench you can use to hold the SAI tube to the block while turning the SAI nut. There are few write ups on it.
