Hey All, I know this topix has been beat to the ground but i will throw it out anyway. I am in the process of getting my truck rigged and need to be realistic about form that follows fuction. It would be great to have a totally lifted, rock crawling monster but for wher i live, it would be a big waste of time and more important money. the only 4X4ing i will be doing is off road in florida. I neednt say more. Tires would play a very important part of the upgrade. Sure, full muds would look great but besides having them rotated every 3000 miles as well as my 30 mile hwy ride home and my drive train taking the beating of a living hell trying to drive 70 mph know doubt, I probably should find a dual use tire. Does anyone have any experiance with generals? these seem like a good compromise..not to mention about $50.00 per tire cheaper than dura tracs... Anyone...

I have these tires and I LOVE THEM!! If you look you can see the sides have really deep tread for digging in and grabbing mud and snow, they have lots of sipping for grip on dry roads and deep channels for water to prevent hydroplaning.
They are also good in sand.
I run these on my work van (I work at FedEx) and also on my Disco.
They are quiet, last a long time and they dig in and grip, I mean they GRIP.
I run mine at 40psi.
On my work van I have them in load range "D", which is a 10 ply tire and I run them at 75psi.
Did I mention that they GRIP?

 

I like the General Grabber AT2, they rock, look rugged and are great on the highway.

imoh one of the best out there for most driving conditions. Also I have had good luck with the Pro Comp Xtreme ATs, they come in funky sizes under 35s though so it might be hard to find ones that will fit.

 

I'm a huge fan of the A/T2's
Quiet on road, amazing off road. They look great and preform better.

I have had my AT2's for over two years and still really like them. Not the best in slippery clay and deep mud (obviously), but outside of some really really bad conditions I have never had one problem with them. They wear well, and have pretty good on road wet traction.
