Default ghost noise inside

When I come to a stop at a light I often get what might be called a ghost noise. It is preceded by an electric pop in the speakers then what sounds like a fan or vacuum pump winding up then winding down. It is not the heater blower, as I can hear that one stay constant. Any guesses or insights?
Thanks

I get the same noise. Almost sounds like a small motor or armature moving. I still don't know what it is.

Maybe it's your little cooling fan in the dash down below your steering wheel on the left. Its there to cool the electronics. Mine only seems to run on cold days in the morning sometimes? Not sure why that is...

when was the last time you had a vacation? if it gets to the point where the 'ghosts' have voices, you're really in need of help. otherwise, what they said ^^^^

It makes sense that it would be a cooling fan. I've only had this rig in the winter so far. With the heater going, all the dash electrics and stereo etc get warm.

Next time you hear it, stick your noggin down there and listen, you'll see the vented square plastic dash bezel. Or have your wife/girl friend look?

I always thought that was a fan to pull in the cabin air to determine the ambient temperature of the cabin so that the auto temperature portion of the climate control could know what the temperature was?

BTW, how do you remove that thing and clean it? I looked and can't figure it out.

That is exactly what it is.

I have never removed mine, but when it gets loud, I either blow it out with compressed air for electronics or use the nozzle attachment on the shop vac. Just depends on whether it is a suck or blow kinda day.

Been there, done that. If I blow any harder, I should probably get paid.

Thing is still annoying me! Just want to remove it to clean it up and lube it. There's got to be a way to get it out of there.
