Quick question..I have started my search for some local 16 inch rims. My question is will the lugs for my 18's fit with the new 16's? I just do not want any surprises and a set of lugs can be pricey.
Cheers,

Chris

What do the lugs have to do with the size of the wheels ??? Actually, you can take this question as the answer.

What size tire are you going to use, are you doing much wheeling?
Oh and yes your lug nuts will be fine.

I am going with a 265/75 R16 BFG AT. I am moving to Chicago next year and just want to be ready for winter. I will be installing the OME 2 inch kit. I will not be doing any rock climbing mud bogging..I just want a capable tire/wheel package that will not get me stuck out in a field

Cheers,

Chris

Depth of the stud could be an issue. You can run into this issue alot when working in sports cars (corvette's)and the width of the rim. There are times when a lug is not deep enough for a rim and it does not seatagainst the rim or vice versa. I was not sure if all 16 LR rims were the same width. Thanks for the snappy answer.

Cheers,

Chris

The wheel studs are the same size for either the 18 or 16" wheels.

You got me all wrong if you thought I snapped. I, for one hate it when someone has the guts to put someone down, forgetting that they where in the learning process at some point. When I asked what the lugs had to do with the size of the wheels, I wanted to know your thoughts on that, thinking that you might teach me a thing or two. And I think that your explanation to your question makes heck of a lot of sense.

Second, when I said that you could take my question as the answer, I meant that no, you didn't need to change the lugs. Heck, I even put a wink to make sure I wouldn't be mis-interpreted.

Believe me, when I really find a thread stupid, I just don't botherand let the others deal with it. Unless there's a little humor to lighten things up. But it's never meant in a bad way. Not from me anyways.

I got enough stress at work without getting in an argument with people with their nuts tied up in a knot. I come here to learn and relax. That's all.But I have to admit that being french sometimes, makes it hard to choose the right words.

Hey, just read this !?!? What the heck are you talkin about ......Last time .....from me ???? you must have me confused with somebody else.

I realise you are the moderator around here, and I respect you for the mountain of knowledge that you are. But making me sound like an A hole that is always a smart *** is stepping out of bounds. You should moderate yourself on this one. I admit after re-reading my answer on this thread, that it could have been taken the wrong way, and I cleared that off with the person it was intended to. I'd go on, but Hey ! it's so not why I come to this place.
